I've recently dug up some very old silver that has a layer of build up on them. It seems to be a very thin layer of calcium? or maybe something else. I'm guessing they were in wet ground mostly because the indian head cents are all corroded and green. What could I soak these silver in the pull the layer of crust off? I've done a brief soak in heated peroxide with no success

Johnny, I've had luck taking off those build-ups with a dremel attachment on
low speed. Just take off a tiny layer at a time and use some white vinegar on
a Q-tip for the rest. Clean with distilled water.
