Hey everyone! It's been a while!

I haven't been able to get out and metal detect in a while, senior year is a lot busier than I thought it would be! However, this hasn't kept me from finding treasures! I got this 1957 Silver Certificate Dollar in my change at school yesterday, someone obviously didn't know what they had!

I know it isn't in the best shape or extremely old, but I always think it's neat when older currency pops up in circulation! This is also my first Silver Certificate Dollar, so it's a big mile marker for me! It's definitely rekindled my interest in treasure hunting!

Thanks for checking this out! Happy hunting!

First off good for you for concentrating on school right not. You'll have plenty of time to swing when you get a great job because you did great in school. Secondly that a neat lil treasure to get in your change. Thanks for sharing

Hey, I'm a senior, too! You're very right in how busy it is. It's kept me from going out as much as I would like, too. The oldest bill I've ever gotten from school has been a 1977 $10. Nice save!

HAHAHAHAHA ! I remember my ex,who was then my girlfriend, helping herself to some cash I had in a nightstand next to my bed so she could purchase fuel for her car. Among that dab of cash were six silver certificates that I never saw again. I cried for like eight damn days! LOL! GREAT find ,but dang sure hang on to it!!

I would put it in a holder simply because when your in your 60s or older your going to look back at it or tell your grand kids that you could still find old money in your change. My father is 70 and tells me stories of still finding Indian head cents and Barber coins in his change. He also remembers when they were still looking for copper 1943 wheat pennies in circulation.

Oh, neat! Anything pre-1965 is pretty hard to come by nowadays, congrats!

Nice Find

Likely it was taken by someone or spent by accident.
Imo The Fed, or banks would have taken it out of Circulation long ago.
I'm pretty sure it sat somewhere for many Years.

Great find! Ive been checking all change I get back, and have found some great coins and paper. My best yet: 2004 wisconsin error quarter with the extra low leaf; and a 1935B silver certificate!! Keep checking that change you never know what you will find.

Nice find. That's in pretty good shape. Just a bit wrinkled. Flatten it out in a book or under a flat weight carefully.
