I'll bet someone went nuts with a zinc plating outfit.
I have seen them plated as early as 1939.
If you are out buying the 1943 cents be careful as some folks will replate them as well and try to pass them off as Mint State.

The silver looking cents to watch out for are post 1982 zinc cents, that are missing the copper coating on them. They can be worth some $$$$ depending on the condition.

I sold a 1990 unclad Lincoln cent in not-so-hot shape for just over $20 in eBay about 2 months ago. I got it in change so that's what, a 2000% profit on one cent? ;D

I tried to get a good shot of it when I first found it, before I figured out what it was, but the macro setting on my camera kinda sucked. I got a new camera a month or two later, strictly for eBay, and that was one of the first things I listed. Imagine a regular clad cent, but colored sort of ashy-silvery.
