Peg,

What is the reign of the coin (reales) in question?
also...if not asking to much, how about the Mint visible? assayer visible? legend? anything other than your first description you have given...I know a photo would be asking for too much, but I'll ask anyway.

tREZ,
I have not purchased it so a photo is not available but here it the rest of what you asked for:
DATE: 1722
REIGN: Phillip V
ASSAYER: A
MINT: R over M
The IV is above the assayers mark
It was not a cobbed coin

Peg,

Was there a small crown over the M ? R small crown M.
How about a portrait or bust facing either left or right? Pillars on the other side?
I need as much detail as possible, because so far...I have found nothing.
I don't know if it is even Spanish.......

Trez,
There is a small crown between the R and the M.
There is no bust and no pillars.
It is SPANISH.
There is a cross on the front side with the words HISPANIARUM -REX 1722.
On the shield side there are the words -PHIIIPPUS-V-D-G.
The part that caught my eye was that there were no L's in PH III PUS.
The shield matches the the shield of Phillip V. In fact the only thing that does not match is the number 4 .
You know this is really starting to get to me it seems that everything that comes my way creates controversy even when I find the item myself. :-\ :-\
I just do not have the time to spend researching EVERYTHING I touch ::) ::) ::

Morning Trez,
Did you fimd anything about the silver REALE 4 that is stamped with a IV instead of a 4?
I think I might ask Dan Sedwick if he has any information on this coin.
Thanks

I have decided not to purchase this coin.
I have enough problems with the gold coins that I FOUND.

I have discovered that the number 4 was used in the following,
4, IIII, IV.
I still do not want to purchase this coin.
