Hey everyone, if you all have been reading my log lately you'll know that things have been slow for us (relatively speaking) in our half dollar box hunting for the YTD. Things seemed to be picking up at the end of August and September has been killer for us so far. Just wanted to share on the main board here some of our finds from the first two weeks of the month!

This box had six enders (all flipped and showing in the pic), all 40%, and ended up being our best box of the year so far. 74 x 40% for a total of 10.94 ounces, more than the 48 boxes we did in August combined.

For all you fair-weather hunters, let me tell you... We've had a rough and discouraging summer overall. For the volume we've done thus far, our returns have been way below our historical average. So these results are in NO way typical (as you all-weather hunters will attest to!) But patience and persistence will be rewarded. Sometime. Eventually. Finally.

When you hit a silver vein, you KNOW it. Just gotta slow down and soak it up while it lasts! We did 20 boxes in two weeks and only had 4 skunks, an amazing ratio! We've had the following notable boxes:

#352: 0 x 90% and 74 x 40% (10.92 oz.)
#355: 9 x 90% and 17 x 40% (5.77 oz.)
#342: 4 x 90% and 25 x 40% (5.14 oz.)
#360: 2 x 90% and 15 x 40% (2.94 oz.)
#348: 7 x 90% and 1 x 40% (2.68 oz.)

In total, our first 20 boxes in September have yielded 28 x 90% and 167 x 90% for a total of 34.83 oz. including six Franklins and two Walkers.

For comparison, that's more silver than our worst three months put together with 5 oz. to spare. March, July and August totaled 29.98 oz. from 132 boxes.

Here's my silver artwork! Each ray is 10 x 40% and the cluster in the middle is all 90% 8-):treasurechest:8-)

Hopefully there's more left for the rest of the month. Happy hunting out there!

Awesome! Glad to hear you are getting some good boxes now. Nothing but skunks for me the last couple of weeks.
