I had a similar one straighten for about £10, it was late 18th C like yours with 3 initials in the same spot. I presented it to the owner, he loved it.

Yours is much nicer with the ship on it!

Very nice results indeed, will look great in a display.

That spoon looks real good and that ship is awesome. I only find the plated ones but I hope to find a nice silver one like that someday.

I think that spoon should be a banner. Very interesting, very old and it's silver to boot. I wonder if the engraving was actually done by a sailor while bored at sea. Great find and looks much better straightened out.

Looks great and now it will be much easier to put into a display box. I lucked out on the only one I found with initials (no ship though, darn it) my spoon somehow came out of the ground not bent.

Beautiful piece and like the others mentioned...will look very nice in the display now that it's straightened...thanks for sharing...

I would say that's $20 well spent.. Thanks for sharing..

I wish I knew how old it is. I'm guessing maybe 1870's(?) it's really cool

CRUSADER, and others tell me late 18th C. While I admit to not knowing, there were other finds like the Rev. war button, and part of a shoe buckle frame of that vintage from the site. So I'll go with that.

here a better (closer) pic of the mark.

Super find Rick and it came out perfect. I would also say it is mid to late 18 C due to the style of script. I found an intact 18th C. free blown bottle with a similar style "I" scratched into it.

Well worth the twenty!

That find is a real prize, coins are just coins, but that is special and specific piece of nice silver!

Showcase centrepiece!

that really makes more sense. the bowl does look applied. man that thing is cool. sucks when nobody can positive ID the marks. the 2nd mark looks like some kind of serpent or dragon.

Beautiful spoon!
