Took a big punt today & spent only 3.5 hours on a field that is not a target field but we have had the odd random find from years ago.
After only 30 minutes I had steered myself onto the hammered. Sometimes its the small signs that guide you. We were wandering around trying to find a spot to grid & I found a lump of old lead. Looked at least medieval & may have been a crude weight. This made me double back on myself where I immediately got the hammered. Always go with your instincts/gut. Never steers you wrong.
4 Scrappies
Unusual large shaped tombac button (first of its type I think)
18th-19th C Carriage Bell - Rare that we get these whole!
Medieval Buckles
Lead Cloth Seal
1634-35 Charles I Half-Groat
PS. Westfront was right.
