Silver with a side of... drugs?

Hey guys! Today I had a dentist appointment in an older part of Tacoma so I decided to pack up my detector this morning before heading out in case I wanted to get out. After my appointment, I grabbed some lunch and found an older looking parking strip outside an abandoned house so decided to try my luck.

Within the first 5 minutes, I found what looked like a metal pen on the ground. Well to my surprise, it turned out to be a weed vape. I guess that’s not too surprising since this is Washington where weed is legal and there was a marijuana dispensary no more than a few blocks away. Definitely a first time find for me lol!

Recently however, all my new spots have turned out to be skunks and I hadn’t found a silver in months. After about 3 hours of detecting, I decided to call it a day and head back to the car pretty much empty handed.

On my way back, I get a penny signal about 6 inches thinking maybe it’s a wheat. Boy was i stoked to finally see some silver!

All in all, a pretty solid and interesting day of hunting! Someone is bummed about their missing weed pen I bet haha!

Yet another example where keeping gear on hand allows for opportunity even when we aren't primarily out for a hunt. Congrats on your finds! :occasion14:

That vape pen isn't necessarily for weed. I think there are likely more folks who use them for nicotine than pot (both I guess are weeds).

Pot, nicotine...both drugs...but the pen does say “Mary’ Mart”.
