Skate Park & Football Field finds

I went down to a local skate park and football field in a Community Park area
today and came up with $ 6.34 in clad . Three wheat pennies 1950D,1953D 1958D,
and a 1953 Canada cent . One squashed rem. 223 shell and a lot of trash aluminum
I omitted from the pic. I dug about 175 holes ,buried them of course , I only got to
cover about half the foot ball field stands so after the rain ends, I will post the following
days hunt . It wasn't a hard day just a lot of holes to take care of. I will take a pic of the area
next time out .

Those wheats are in terrific shape for being buried. Were these found in the red dirt like the Ike you found was? Or in different kind of soil.

Here in Ohio the coins would really be messed up compared to your finds. WTG.

These coins were found in an area that has a sandy base to it ,There is some red dirt lower in the ground around
12 inches or so, So some red dirt is mixed with it a bit .Then they put about a foot of sand over it .The field has
Bermuda grass on it . I think that the fertilizer has something to do with it cause as soon as the coin comes
out of the ground I do a no no and rub the coin and the patina seems to just come right off giving a newer appearance.
see the pic of the field and sand below.
Hope this helps ya Sanat and happy hunting to ya
Tom
