Between the heat and the dry ground, and just plain lack of luck... I regret to report that I have not gotten a lot of treasure lately.

One of last week's hunts produced a few wheaties and a brass key to a jewelry box. Now if I could just find the box, I would be in business.

On Friday night I went to an old school... I checked an area that had an old tree, and had not be disturbed by the earth movers. I got a few coins, some looked like they had been in the ground for a while. Then I got a nice high tone on the Deus, and out pops a Rosie... it didn't look silver, but didn't look clad either, after a little cleaning... I could see the 1946. It had been 21 days since my last silver coin. Quite a long drought. That is silver #26 YTD.

Thanks for looking and good luck.

I'm glad your silver drought is finally over, Tom. I was feeling your pain. The Roosevelt dime cleaned up nicely considering how it looked coming out of the ground. Did you zap it?

Thanks Jay.
The 21 day drought was the longest since I started finding silvers in April. I was really happy to see that little Rosie show up on Friday night. I just rubbed it really well with baking soda between my fingers... I didn't even need to zap it.

Hope to see you when the weather gets a bit cooler.

Those are nice finds! congrats! The tiny key is really nice!

Dude, you don't know how lucky you are! You could be hunting with me and Murphy! Last Sunday I got my first silver coin for this ENTIRE YEAR! I'm hoping the ball I found is a musket ball! Sad would be my clad finds!
As long as I am keeping Murphy busy you have an excellent shot at some spectacular finds, go for it!

I like that little key too. One I found last year was my favorite all time find for quite awhile. Glad your silver drought is done....maybe you'll get flooded with 'em now!

I'm a bit dry myself. Congrats with the silver...that's the gasoline that keeps our metal-detecting engines going!

-Happy Hunting!
