I'm figuring they have insurance that pays for it. That doesn't make it right to take the money, but the casino will probably get the money back and an increase in their premium of 10 or 20K or something.

Many years ago I walked into a small casino about 50-75 miles east of Vegas, Nevada, I wasn't sure what I was going to play, there were two slot machines between two doors I thought of, and right beside them was a blackjack table. Since I was nursing a major hangover from a previous wild night in Vegas the night before, I chose the blackjack table as there were no stools with the slot machines.

After playing BJ for about 15 mins I heard bells go off and dollars falling, one of the 2 machines was paying out, I thought just my luck, and I continued to play BJ. About another 10 or 15 mins later bells went off again on the same machine and you could hear the silver dollars hitting the metal tray again (beautiful sound it is). The third time it happen again about 10-15 mins later I asked the BJ dealer what was going on, he said "its broke, but we can't fix it till we close" They close between 4 am and 5 am for cleaning, It was about midnight then.

Each time the bells went off she was winning several hundred and they went off every 15 mins or so till they closed for cleaning. No idea how much that lady won that night, but it was a whole lot more then I did. I think I won about $200 that night. Lost a lot more then that the night before in Vegas.

My room mate and I were on a 6 week vacation paid for mostly by the company we worked for. We had been transfered to Minot N. D. to install a telephone office, but the equipment had not arrived. Our supervisor told us if we used up our vacation, he would pay for any extra time till the equipment arrived. He told us to call in Every Monday and Friday. ( He paid for 4 weeks )

We left Minot and drove to Yellowstone, then up to Glacier in Wy, down through Idaho to Hell's Canyon and up to Sun Valley, then over to the Cascades in Washington State We got on the coastal highway, and drove to San Diego Ca. taking every scenic turn out and every National park on the way, and there are a lot of them. We left San Diego and drove to Lake Taho then to Las Vegas Nevada.

We had already hit several of the "Ranches" in Nevada, before we stopped in Vegas for a night of fun. We walked into our first casino in Vegas about 3pm, we walked out the following morning about 8 am, broke, drunk, and not a clue where our van was parked. We had to beg a quarter to call the credit union to get them to wire us some more money, as we were not ready to go home.

Several days later we heard when we called our supervisor that the equipment would be in a week from the following Monday and we headed back to Minot via the Grand Canyon, Monument Valey in Arizona and then the Colorado Rockies. A total of 6 weeks camping and having fun.

This is the honest truth. Course I was also under 30 and single........those were the days ;D

How ironic is that, the machine was named "Extra Money"

hahhahaha

I wouldn't have told the casino, personally. They take enough money from people, it's nice when you get some back. It would be like telling the IRS they sent you $10,000 for a tax refund when you were owed $100. pppfffttt...

Well, one thing to consider is that it is the casino's responsibility to keep their machines in proper working order.
If they do not, that is not my problem.

Exactly. And something not mentioned in the story linked to above is that the Indiana Gaming Commision is running an investigation into this and is contemplating a fine against Caesar's Indiana over this screwup, since the casino is supposed to test these things every so often to make sure they're set up properly. Also, last I heard, Caesarrs is trying to track down the players that pulled money from the machine, although the only ones they will likely get hold of will be the ones that had a club card from the casino that was used on the machine. I am so thankful I don't worl for them anymore...bunch of screwups over there. :)

I have played in that casino before and no one should be feeling sorry for them, the payback for those machines is so bad you would need 10x times your money to have a prayer of winning. No one could havn't taken more than 1000 per ticket because the machine would called the slot attendent if someone tried to cash 1200 or more. I MIGHT have put a few 20s into it just to test it before I called anyone over LOL.

A while back two business men were in Vegas. One of them comes back to a room they shared after gambling for several hours. His roommate was just watching TV. His asked his roommate if he was going to gamble and he replied that he wasn't really into gambling, but was going to go get something to eat. On his way out of the room the gambler tossed him a one dollar token and told him to go ahead and at least gamble it away. The man went down stairs and dropped the token in a slot machine. He won a small jackpot and took the money to the roulette table were he bet on red several times, doubling his money each time. He then went to the craps table where he doubled again several times. He then moved to the blackjack table and continued to double his money until he had over a million dollars. He decided he would go one more time, rationalizing that if he won he would have a million plus dollars for himself and for his friend. On this last attempt he lost it all!

He then got something to eat and went back to his room. His roommate asked him if he had gambled and replied that he had. When asked how he did, he replied, "Oh, I lost a dollar".

What I want to know is, why does the value of the money you insert get multiplied 10X if you're playing in the Philippines?
