I was able to con(vince) TNetter, P@tch, to take me hunting this weekend. He assured me that it would be one of his patented, "guaranteed to find silver" hunts... and let me tell you, he did not disappoint. We hunted all day Saturday and half the day Sunday.

Let's get the boring stuff out of the way first. I dug a ton of trash and a bunch of clad. I also got a few "relics".

I also dug some wheaties... one had a square nail hole in it.

Now, on to the good stuff! At the first spot, first half hour, hunting the old curb strip in front of the park. I found this cobra, at first, I'm just not sure that it is real, but after I cleaned it up, sure enough, urban silver! 7.5 grams of brotherly love!

I went into the park, and dug some random signals. One of them was a coin spill, two quarters, several cents, nickel, dime and '94 Kennedy half. The quarter was laying against the half, which left a silver spot on the half, for about two seconds... I thought I had a silver half... not to be though.

We went to a spot (house w/ large yard) that we have hunted (25) times. It has given up all sorts of goodies, and still coughs up one occasionally. This signal was not good, because of rusty nails in the hole. Once the nails were removed, there was a deep high tone, it turned out to be this dateless SLQ. Only the second one I have found. I was thrilled. P@tch laughed at me!

I got a couple of Indians during the hunt too. Two different location, that's why they look so different.

This hole had nails, trash and a mercury dime in it!

This was a very good weekend for me, and I owe a debt of gratitude to P@tch. Thanks buddy! I am quite proud of the three pieces of silver I was able to bring home.

Both silver coins had trash in the hole, they were NOT good signals. If I didn't dig the bad signals, I wouldn't be smiling today. That's a hint!

Thanks for looking, and best of luck on your hunts!

Nice hunt, especially the Silvers and the IH Cents! :icon_thumright: The SLQ continues to elude me.

Fantastic Hunt, Tom, congrats on three silvers and a nice bunch of relics too. The Cobra should be worn for good luck from now on? Sub 8-)

The look on your face when you dug the SLQ. "Priceless" congrats on that rare, around these parts Find.

Great finds and great post.

Wow a threesome, nice job!

When I saw the eagle on the back of that coin, I got really excited... I'm sure that I had a goofy look on my face... I mean a different goofy look than the usual one.

Thanks again buddy, and I'll see you soon!

Congrats on the silver haul this weekend! I am still looking for my first SLQ. (Or any other quarter that's not a Washington.)

Well.........well played, sir! Thanks for sharing with all us frozen ground hunters.
Did Patch get any keepers or were you the only lucky one?

I agree 200% on digging those "iffy" signals. HH ALL

Great Finds .
The SLQ Is a Def, "Hider" down here in the South .
Barbers , Seated , or Capped Types .......Haaaaaa.

Just look at your areas Population #'s in 1960, 1930, or 1900., Compared to places in the North.

Funny that you would ask about P@tch... right out of the chute, he got an Indian, then a war nickel... and I had nothing, so he started mocking me. Asking if the machine was on and other bothersome nonsense. I was frantically trying to find a good coin, to no avail. Luckily, the stars got back into alignment and I started finding stuff. He had me mumbling and sweating for a little while.

We both found silver coins, both days... so it ended up, all good!

Dang Tom, you 2 had a great weekend hunting. :headbang: Looks like you found a few weeks worth of keepers in a day and a half. I wonder how many more great find you'd score if the Deus had a small sniper coil available. :dontknow:

A smaller coil would help LD. I used the 9" coil both days. Both silver coin targets had nails with them. Neither signal was "good"... more than half of my good targets are bad signals.

The weather was in the upper 40s and the ground moist, so I just dug and dug. If it repeats and is above 40, dig it up! I dug at least 200 holes in the two days.

Best to you sir!

I thought about adding a 9" coil to the Deus until I saw the price OUCH.

Yow! What a great variety. Looks like a very fun hunt! Congrats!

Congratulations on those really cool fines! Mercury dime and SLQ are great, but that snake is really awesome! HH
