Hello T-net! Hope everyone is doing well and able to get a little hunting in. Anyways, I'll make this quick:

Found a small (2 inch long) metal tube about a month or so ago while detecting at one of my favorite spots. Area is a big park dating back 100+ years, and has produced plenty of silver coins, jewelry and relics. The small tube rang up as silver, looks like silver, and even tested on a scratch test to be silver. So I'm guessing it is silver ;) hehe. There is also engraved scalloping designed along the side.

My immediate thought was, "rich-man's cocaine snorter". Yeah, I know it's a SMALL SILVER TUBE!! And it could be used for hundreds of tasks. But just thought I would ask if anyone recognizes it as anything specific! Any help/idea is greatly appreciated [emoji106]🏻. HH and GL

It may be a sleeve from mechanical pencil. They were often worn on a chain so I can see where they could easily be lost. pencil.jpg
This hobby is addictive enough - who needs a straw! (unless, of course, it's silver)
Cool find. :headbang:

Yeah it could be a mech pencil sleeve. I thought about something like that, however, there are no threads or joints from where something else could attach. Ehh, who knows....again, it could be anything from a pencil sleeve, to a milk straw to a flux capacitor for a spaceship hehe
