Hello

This hallmark is confusing to me.

It appears to be E.E.

The few references is see online are Elizabeth Eaton but this does not appear to be two circles but a rectangle. Also there are periods after the E's and I do not see that in the ones I found online..

Year is 1850?

New at this stuff...

Thanks for ideas. IMG_20191207_085315385.jpg IMG_20191207_085343072.jpg

Look at English hallmarks.
"E.E." could be the city where made, The lion means it's sterling, and the "P" could be a date code, but
don't hate me if I'm wrong.
I DO know for sure the lion means sterling.

The maker is Edward Edwards II, registered in London, April 1828.

It has silver gilt interior and the sterling hallmarks you're showing are for London, 1830. Our London hallmark date letters have a repeating 20 year cycle, so the style changes with each new cycle. If it had been 1850 then the date letter would have been gothic script (and the monarch's head would have been Victoria's).

Shame you didn't show us the whole box.
