Sitting around, waiting for the year to end just got to be too much! ;)

So, I decided a short walk around the mansion was in order. :)

This place is a wonderful to be, but it's pretty much just a relic hunt anymore.
Doesn't matter, I always enjoy anyway!

Here's the result:

This place never fails to make me smile with it's varied
and odd bits & pieces. :dontknow:

I like the token, Maybe you could find some local history to attribute to it. Always nice to find a locally issued token from the town or area we live. nice save.

Thanks!

The gold thing is the trademark for "Polo by Ralph Lauren". It is plated but maybe, since they are kinda high pahloy. It might just be a gold plated something.

:hello2: Glad you got out & dug that 6-sided tag for yourself & shiny bling for Blingie & Fish! :hello2:

I've been so busy recently that, with no time for detecting, I've been reduced to eyeballing any bare ground I pass by, lol. This had an unexpected great result this week when I spotted a new cellphone in an odd place behind our library. Figured a teen had left it there when their ride home pulled up, so I gave the phone to the librarian for their "lost & found". Felt extra good returning that phone because a hard rain was expected within hours of when I spotted the phone! By morning, it would've been ruined. This is the 4th working cellphone I've eyeball-found and returned during my three years of detecting. Also dug a ruined one at beach last year. Then a couple weeks ago I dug a costly cell phone at the beach with no signs of water damage due to its expensive protective case, so that phone's probably still good. It may belong to a nice tourist guy I met on same beach a month earlier who'd lost his phone --- now that I've rediscovered his phone number that I'd hastily jotted on a napkin & stuffed into my backpack, I'm gonna phone him to return it even if it's not his. I use a simple cell phone and that's all I need. :laughing7: Andi

Will be fun getting back to detecting soon, especially as we have super-low tides mid-January. :icon_thumright: Have Fun in 2015!! :icon_thumright: Andi

Is the thing right of the flat button a leg from furniture? I have found one or two of those.

That is some good stuff, nice variety! Tokens are always cool to find and love those flat buttons. 19 degrees today here in SW Ohio and the first couple inches was already frozen yesterday when I left the field, might be a while before i get back out............

The big thing looks to me like maybe a part of a broom/shovel handle. :dontknow:
The token? I thought some sort of Railroad baggage tag but, I don't know of a "W&H".
The little round end thing? Maybe a pipe tamper?
The thing with threads? I really don't know. Is it possible that it's like a plug to a powder horn? It's non-magnetic and fairly heavy
for it's size. :dontknow:

Here's some pics in natural light, if that helps.

The flat button? I've tried to uncover any info on it but my eyes are just not good enough.

2014 (1064).jpg
2014 (1066).jpg
2014 (1067).jpg

The 1st pic is with artificial light, the next two with natural.
Now, I know my eyes don't see as well as I'd like but I THINK
I see something about 12-o-clock, in the inner circle. I won't say what I think
I'm seeing, hopefully the pics are good enough to show it and
maybe better eyes can say.

But, don't fret about it too long. Life's too short and this button has served it's
purpose long, long ago! :)

Happy New Year!

I am not sure what that is on the back of your button. Crown? Big W? I thought it was a trident at first look.
That's a great ID on the token!

Ok, I'll say what I think I see but you forced me! ;)

I could almost see an eagle with it's wings spread. :dontknow:

I've tried to convince me it's just corrosion but, it's not working. :)

Thanks for trying!
