So, I thought I'd add to my clad again today.
Didn't feel like traveling far though. So, the mansion, the wheat toast farm and the penny ante fields were all out.
I chose the close school yard where my research showed that the ball fields weren't always in the places they are now. I've done well here, especially after the research! Always catch a surprise or two as this was also a VERY old farm once.
Anyway, here's the overall:
Who was it that found a spear head that would bring one of these down?
This little fellow was watching how I dug/filled my holes. (Probably one of Sheriff Gumby's deputies. )
Clad galore!
A 1938 Wheat, lightly toasted.
Ah, and about those "surprises"?
I got this PERFECT "quarter" hit at about 7-8 inches deep. (86-87 on the AT-Pro).
As you can see, I was paying particular attention to those today.
I dug down, scooped out, twice, three times. And there she was, lying on the pile right beside me.
It's been through a tough life. Up to 100 plus years buried under a VERY large and OLD pine tree.
But, the scratches were there before I saved her.
Man! The boy who lost that, back then, must've seen the inside of the woodshed!
Thanks for peeking!
