So I have always seen these and found them in rock piles, but never exactly knew what they were. I am 100% certain they are ferrous and pretty certain either oxide, hydroxide, or both. I forgot about them for a few years until Friday when a friend of mine asked me what they were. I could not give him a definitive answer, even though I've always assumed these as Hematite, I wasn't for sure. So, what are they? Maybe you guys have had this question or know this answer? Thanks.

Appears to be a type of concretion Soren. I feel its an oxide of iron and may have some hematite in the mix which is not unusual for concretions but yours is a good mix.
