Good looking Point Steve. Knife River I presume.
yup
it is KRF for sure
i 'm finding out that these do exist around the dakotas and are older than the prairie side notch, jaw notch, and avon lea
but i have only found a few of these in the last twenty years

Nice point Steve.

Besants should be relatively common in the western half of the
Dakotas which is very close to the center of their distribution
range. They are found from Nebraska and on up into Canada.

thanks river rat, funny i am a river rat too, but in the way that i am a walleye fisherman that fishes the missouri river
yes 11kbp, they are common some places but after finding hundreds of prairie side notch, jaw notch, and triangle point and only finding a couple dozen besants throughout the last 20+ years i can say from experience that they are not prolific at the site(s) i surface hunt at
the ND historical society has a lot of them in their museum but they did not come from the areas that i walk
never the less i see you have a lot of knowledge across the board
i have knowledge only from a few sites which is why i appreciate your comments.
i almost always learn something from every post i make
i sure hope i can get more familiar to this new format
