Only had an hour, so I put my deep settings on and went back to the ballfield to try my luck. Got some deep, iffy signals. Dug em and got the wheats. Got a strong signal and kept digging and digging. Another Winchester Repeater shell. Snapped a pic of the hole I pulled the 1934 wheat out of. Pin pointer is 9 inches long, so probably 9-10 inches on it.

Yep, the deeper signals are dependent on conditions. I got one at 13 inches once but then there were a couple I got that were very iffy signals at best. They turned out to be wheaties but they were ONLY about 3 inches down! LOL Wierd!

Nice to have only a short time to hunt and still turn up something old!
