here some digs from yesterday at a pounded site of mine I hit on a whim-i always say no need to go back -but I always dig stuff... :laughing7:

2 .44 cals
1 .32 cal
Peice of ring
flat button
cufflnk-both peices(i think)
holed somethin
1824 LC

ALso there is a fired bullet ( im assuming) that has three "barbs" protruding from the mushroomed bullet I have never seen anything like this it is way too symettrical to be coincidental almost like this round was designed to do this
ANy input would be appreciated on this "Civil war black talon"
Regardless i hope no one got hit by this thing it really would hurt :help:

Nice finds! It looks to me as if two bullets collided in mid air and fused together that way. See if you can compare the weight with similar bullets.

:icon_thumleft: Looks like the bullet may have been close to somethin hot (fireplace) from the tiny air bubbles present in the flat area.

as far as fused bullets go this one is less weight than a standard 3 ringer,
very possibly could be melted how ever just seems to have an odd formation to have been melted :read2:

Does not look like there is any rifling.. and the butt is pretty flat. Looks like it was being hammered into something.. ??

I believe what you have there may be a rare Gardiner explosive bullet. Could we get some better pics of the bullet?
