I clean large relics and always recommend old lawn mower blades or circular saw blades.

I use stainless steel recycled from old restaurant equipment cut into strips daisey chained around the container for large tools. Never had a problem with solution turning any color other than brown.

Guess if you're really worried about it you can let your dirty solution evaporate & turn it in with your old paint.

I find a lot of stainless silerwear detecting, I just put it to re-use as the anode. Dont ever do this in the house by the way.
