These photos are from the last couple of days, not much else to do seeing we've not had any rain for about 6 or 7 weeks, so I took the camera out yet again :laughing7:.

This first pic is of the runt of the ducklings, it was fast asleep on the feeding platform.

This greenfinch wouldn't let me get any closer, but I thought it would make a good shot.
2.jpg
This is a Water Vole, one of our rarer animals, thankfully making a comeback.

This shot was taken from the fields looking towards the church and my house. My house is in the middle of the trees to the right of the church

Very good, that first one.

I like 'em all Hammered. Get a 2 litre soda bottle, make a small hole in the cap, fill it with water, suspend it over a tub or shallow pan of water. Let it slowly drip into the other water, making little splashes. Birds and other critters will hear that and come flocking to your yard. Get your camera ready.....have fun...........NGE

You do some great pic's! And, love the country scenery!
I like that little vole, made me think of your little hedgehog. hehehehehehe
I hope you bring us, many more little animals, soon.

:o

Wow Ian, great shot of the Water Vole :o I live right near the River Tees and they used to be a lot about 30 years ago, haven't seen one for at least that time, although the have re-introduced the Otter to the Tees, the Water Vole is still yet to make a come back :-\

Great shots again Ian, and yes it's good to see some of the wildlife making a come back to our rivers. You live in a lovely part of England, I get very envious of your surroundings, living in a City doesn't hold much charm I'm afraid.

Funny you should say that, the "Water Vole" is known as the "Water Rat" although not related :laughing7:

Hey "U", you are one of the UK crowd, when I eventually get my backside in gear, you are coming down with detector and camera and we will all detect and kick out together, OK :icon_thumleft:

Been wondering how Benson is Ian, what's been wrong with him?
Not too sure about detecting with you, I don't have one lol I do most of my TH at car boot sales, charity shops and auctions etc etc. But yous would all be welcome to pop in for a cuppa if you are down this way. My hubby is a retired 'bobbie' and my son is in as well. Sooooo lots in common to talk about eh.

Hi "U" :hello:, Benson has something called "hot spots", because he goes swimming all the time, can't stop him, his fur doesn't dry out 100%. Due to being damp around his chin and cheeks, and warm, it's a perfect area for bacteria to grow. He gets a version of acne, which then gets itchy and he scratches it and the problem get worse and worse. I try to keep on top of it, but it catches you out sometimes, fortunately, he is responding to anti-biotics and is bouncing back. Still swimming though ;D.
