Hey guys. Got out to the Iceberg a bit yesterday. Got some nice stuff. 4 silver including a 1916 barber dime and a real sweet 1945 merc. I thought the eagle thing with the (military?) insignia was pretty cool. And the little silver heart was in the same hole with 2 wheats...they were pretty deep but after i got the wheats out, I still heard something in pinpoint mode and that's what it was.

Nate,
VERY nice finds. Great pictures too. Isn't it funny how many marbles turn up in this hobby? ;D I have about 8 myself.
Congrats to you,
MM

that marble is an alley agate....lawrence alley made the swirl types at locations all over wv in places like pennsboro-sistersville and salem...his last plant in st marys wv eventually became marble king and burnt down in 1958...marble king then moved the operation to paden city wv. where it is still in operation,today...you can tell the different location by subtle changes in the white base glass..white/ ivory- white blueish-etc...the ones with more flame tips are more desireiable. that mib looks like a 25 center....the red flame in the bottom row on this pic are the ones to look for

i've turned up a few marbles just from digging. And many from detecting bulldozed lots and spotting them on top of the ground.

Thanks guys. Duffytrash, we've found some neat ones at the Iceberg before. Some of them have to be pretty old.
