what is the brown shiny material in the first image? (right side in the middle)

its a blackish brown flint. Sometimes the colors will band in the flint. Besides white its really the only flint we find. We call it cecil county flint even though its was found in harford county. I guess our cherts and jaspers are considered flints too right?

Im thankful for what I do find but it definetly has been slow. And yes I really do like finding any jasper peices since most everything we find is quartz
