Were all these coins found in Italy?
Any back story here?
Don......

All coins found in Portugal . The big one is a ceitil and others are dinheiros, the very first type of coins hammered after independence. See here..

The "castle" coin was minted in Portugal (yes) during the reign of Alfonso V, 1438-1481. A similar coin (located in the British Museum) was found in Bristol's floating harbor in 1911.Coins found in the mud indicate that Bristol was trading with Portugal in those days.
