Hunting has been crapy lately due to lack of time to travel to good sites.

I stepped out into my yard today to try out my new digging tool I just received from Mighty AP. I tell you the man is a genius! WOW! What a tool!

Anyway, all I found was a pile of 19th century square nails and two pieces of Float Copper. I really like these tiny pieces as it's really easier to find the bigger ones.

Copper: - Float Copper
"Foat" copper is found throughout the "Copper Country" of Michigan and many nearby states. Glacial movements thousands of years ago altered the geologic deposits of the native copper by tearing and scouring the land. Copper, along with other rocks, gravel, and sand were constantly tumbled and deposited over large areas of the Upper Midwestern United States.

I might add that float copper is sometimes found in chunks weighing 1000's of lbs. Pieces weighing 1-3 lbs are fairly common.

Below is a picture of the same pieces of float copper shown at the beginning of this post. I just cleaned them up a bit.

I need to redo them because they're not shiny enough.
