It was some wet digging but I got some done. Dug 5 Wheaties and a 1903 V Nickel, this is my best V so far but pictured is the only good side. The other side was caked in green but the date was visible so I soaked it in lemon juice. The bad side is totally toasted but this is still a lot nicer than my first one which was barely able to ID. Also found a Burlington Overall button. Dug some iron but was pretty sure that was what they were, just making sure that nothing else was with them. I dug about 8 nickel signals, 12 or 13 on the Nox for three nickels, the rest were pull tabs or beaver tails. I know that some of you dig some really nice Vs and Shields but the dirt around here is really rough on nickels, heck coins in general.

Nice finds. I have yet to dig a V nickel, maybe because I get discouraged and stop digging those tones, especially if I am in a trashy area and low on time. Your persistence has paid off for you... congrats!

Congrats on the wheaties and the v nickel. The side you show on the v is really no worse than mine which even have tiny raised blisters on several of them.

Congrats Looter! I've only found 1 V nickel! For me they are more scarce than Seated dimes, Barber Quarters and King George coppers!!!

These are coming out of my old permission, just about the only place I hunt for the most part anymore. My wife was sure last year that we had already gotten all the good stuff out but it is still giving us finds, just a lot slower than before. Having to dig the more trashy signals that we had passed up previously.
