I found this at my 1800's farm site yesterday

Thought it was gonna be another large cent

But turns out it's an old medallion from a hand saw. I belive it dates to 1860. Coins have been few and far between at this site but I know they are hiding somewhere

Nice find. I found one for a Disston saw a few weeks ago. It's posted. A Disston saw search will find you the history and pictures of different medallions for various time periods they were used.

That's Amazing!! Not the saw nut but the fact that you were actually digging in Southwestern Pennsylvania! The ground must be frozen six inches deep!

Been digging in the woods. The leaves are keeping the ground soft underneath. The farm road is rock solid though. It is also on the sunny side of the hill. So one of my last spots I can keep diggin at for now

Thanks guys. Using a harbir freight dual drum tumbler. Sand from my reef tank a little dishwasher soap and hot water. Tumble overnight. And looks great
