Sometimes old tokens are unique

These are some of recent finds. A couple of these were throw backs from someone previous digs,who didn't want them cuz they were not coins. Lucky for me. Don't know much about the 1st one. It's copper and has imprint of US flag. Number 2 is a Metropolitan Life token from 1939 World's Fair. Third one is 10 Gauge shell. Don't know much about the 4th,it's silver. NUmber 5 is some kinda coin. Number 6 says Good luck from Excelsior Shoes for Boys July 1910.Number 7 1913 penny and number 8 is a 3 pence 1941.

Tokens can be valuable. Last year I sold two of my token digs for $100 each.

Number 4 looks to be a St Christopher medal, number 5 is a chinese cash coin, and I have also found one of those Excelsior tokens. I have it stashed at home somewhere.

There is nothing on the back side, but the stars on the flag appear to be the same as 21 or 23 star flag.

Yes, I've found a couple as I recall. It's been a long time but I found them down in the Western Michigan area. They're so big you think they're fake.

These were popular guns for shooting the now extinct Passenger Pigeon. The pigeons would fill the air and guys would just cut loose with their long barreled 8 ga. Mule Ear shotguns and blow them out of the air. People usually didn't eat the bird, they just shot them for sport.

Not far from where I was born a now famous artist lived as a hermit. About all he did in his life was paint pictures of the Passenger Pigeon.

Somewhere in my family there is one of those 8 ga cannons, from great - grandpa. Rumor had it on a good day he could get more than one goose with a single shot...........

why is the swastika on that one, was the symbol at one time more acceptable? I see it on alot of stuff on here??

From what I can find out is the Swastika was a symbol for good luck long before it was used by the Nazis. Most of us associate it w/the horrors of WW2.

Congrats on the cool tokens. The swastika on the good luck tokens is turned in the opposite direction as the nazi swastika. This was earlier a symbol for luck.
