I brought back some black sands and fines from California and looked at them under the microscope.

I love doing this and wanted to share some pictures with you. Hope you like 'em as much as I do. I did not reset the time stamp correctly. Pictures were taken 27th Sep 2019

What a wonderful assortment of minerals! Look at all the different colors and forms! I see a couple of perfect cubes. I wonder what mineral can withstand the beating and maintain a relatively perfect cubic shape. Flourite? Pyrite? Great pics!
 

very good point Tuberale I just tried to turn the light of the microscope off (it's nighttime in Germany now) and use external black light but it does not work properly. Anyhow, I enjoy looking at the black sands and fines I take home. I wish I would find some of those Minerals as a bigger Piece.
