Spanish half real cob

Just dug this sweet little holed cob from my pounded Pomander siteIt wasnt too far from where I recovered another cob back in 2015. This one was less than 10 yards from where I always park my truck. It gave no number and sounded just like a deep piece of tiny can slaw but rings up like a zinc out of the ground. Never hunted out is so true. Any help on id appreciated

congrats on the totally awesome find and to find it so close to where you park, kind of why I swing all the way back to the truck and around it. occasionally I find something that I can't believe that I hadn't found it before. conditions change, who knows but you are one happy camper now

Off the top of my head,1666-1700. Nice and early

Scrappy id'ed it as a Charles II and I think he's right. He ruled from 1665-1700. It was probably holed to keep secure but lucky for me it did not work

I would of said the splits were from the clumps being struck."Many cobs were quite thick and disfigured with large cracks."

Either way it's a really nice recovery and one of those finds that probably will never be under my coil. Congrats on the holed Cob, like stated earlier their loss is your gain.
