Got back from detecting late on sunday so had to wait till tonight to post weather was a lot better than last week but finds were hard to come by, the fist picture shows a common uk detecter find but this one could be that bit different it looks to have runic inscriptions on both sides if they are I will be well pleased, the second picture (again I am not 100% sure) looks to me like a peice of Viking hack money Cica 10th-11th century which was cut from bars of Silver or Gold to specific wheight to trade as direct value in Silver or Gold, and lastly a large peice of patterned Silver proberbly from a walking stick. TK ::) :o

Looks like it could be Sudo-Futhark writings. Need an expert opinion, but I would be happy to say Saxon/Viking.

Hack silver seems possible as well, so another great weekend.

Let me know if we are on for next weekend.

What is the ring made of,if you please?
The ring as you refer is made of lead the white appearance is oxidization due to it being in the ground a long time. :)

TK, that's an excellet find! One first pass, I'd say Viking or Saxon but it should be ID'd by an expert. The inscriptions are interesting and I would be curious to find out what the artifact is and what the markings denote. Anyway, its a fantastic find, congrats!
