Split-Site West - Scouting Missions...

[CRUSADER]

I've just named this Site based on a modern ditch that cuts this Roman Site into 2 pieces; 1 roughly 30% & the other 70%. The 70% was on another landowners field, so Land-Mag did his magic & got us permission. We still have a small area to finish on Split-Site East but that can wait.
The conditions are far from perfect; with Oil-Seed Rape stalks & volunteers growing up thick in places. However, this makes it easier to walk on with my boots actually coming off cleaner than they started.
The last 2 outings were about assessing the size & shape of the Site, so that it can inform our grid pattern tomorrow.
Cru'dad did a solo Friday hunt for 2 & a bit hours getting;

Roman Leather Mount

I did 2.5 hours with Land-Mag today & I wanted to check past the outer edges that Cru'dad had defined. I got;

Yeap, he had a Hadrian Sestertius (our oldest Roman from the Site) & the Iron Age Brooch is a good sign on top of my Bronze Unit from Split-Site East.
