I slipped out last night for a quick trip to the honey hole. Just an hour or so, to make sure that the mosquitos were getting fed. After I have been away, they all gather around my feet, just like puppies, so glad to see my return...

I got a few wheaties and a heartbreaking 1940 nickel, not a war nickel, nor a buffalo... just a plain nickel. Then I got what sounded like a silver dime on the Deus, but the numbers were really jumpy, about 6" down, this silver coil pops out... apparently the digger hit it. It's a snake ring, but the details are worn off of it... you can just barely see where it used to have scales on it.

Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts!

it doesn't look to me like the digger hit it. You would see fresh gouge marks or scratch. Maybe it was in the ground that way. Nice ring.

Nice slithering, sneaky, stealthy, scaly, silver snake ring Tom! Always great to unearth an unusual precious metal ring. Congrats, Sub 8-)

Yes, it was at that site. About 2 Ft. from your spill... don't see how you dug 100 zinc cents, and missed that ring. Odd?

JK... it was out in the middle of grassy area... just a random beep!

They are brutal around here. I forget the spray and I as I walked onto the site, they were following me, looks like black smoke around my bare legs! I ran back to the truck and sprayed down, but that just gets the skeeters high!

I live on the reservoir in the greater Jackson, MS area. You don't have to explain to me!

Nice find on the silver ring. I have found exactly zero silver (or gold) jewelry this year. :BangHead: Oh well, maybe I am just saving it all for the 2nd half of the year. :laughing7:

Hopefully you got some of that rain that pounded us last night. That was a hell of a storm.

GL and HH.

Thanks Bill! I got 18 silver rings last year... took me 6 months to find my first this year! Hopefully the pace will pick up!

GL brother.

Nice rind find! :occasion14:

About the mosquito problem, I'm going to the local blood bank an get a pint of blood and design a "humming bird" type feeder to hang off my back so they can eat without bothering me...problem solved! :dontknow:
