Ok rock folks. A little help please. I found this on the ground around an old home site. Laying right on top. I know there is a cave about a mile away. Could this be a Stalagmite or Stalactite someone snagged years ago and then lost at their house?

I believe this is either a stalagmite or a stalactite. Great find.

The growth rings are consistent with both stalactites and stalagmites. In Tennessee they would be calcite. The color is also consistent. TN is a big cave along with a number of others. You could visit a rock shop in TM and compare. Years ago they were sold on the roads.
