Well, I first posted Dec 19 about getting a new BH3300. It works great. I've been given permission to search an old farm near where I live. So far, no old coins but the relics pop up everywhere. So far I've found an old leg trap (for pelts), an axe head, a chain hook, several machine bolts, something I'll have to photo and put in the "What is it?" column, and this- stamp.jpg
The only info I have come up with yet is this. http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/articles/SS/hrsdg.html More research to follow.

I think this "Spring Creek Alliance" document seal may be from the Spring Creek, Texas local chapter of the Farmers' Alliance, an organization which originated in Texas and grew out of the Grange (National Grange - Patrons of Husbandry) movement in the late 1800's. For more info:

Thanks PBK! I figured it was some kind of farming co-op since it had a number (3629) and the hay stack in the middle of the seal. Has to be hay, we don't grow much wheat out here. Thanks again, this will give me a heads-up when I go to our local county history library! The next question is how did this seal get to a farm outside of Marble Falls. (My first guess is that a farmer involved with the alliance moved from Spring Creek to here.)
