What is a sticky topic, and how are they determined?

They are threads that have been "pinned" to the top of a particular section, they "stick" at the top of the list instead of getting buried under new topics.

If you noticed all the "sticky topics" in this section, take notice how they are at the top of the page. They will stay at the top of page one no matter how many other posts are posted.

The mods and/or admin of a forum determine what posts will be sticky posts, they are sometimes called pinned on other forums. Rules, policies, information or very helpful/important posts are generally chosen.
