Unfortunately, your picture is very small and even with my 'cleaning it up', the details are still out of focus. :icon_scratch:
Try taking a pic in natural sunlight with a closer shot of the button and less of your hand.

As Kellam suggested, it's likely pewter, 18thc or earlier in date, no idea on the design.
