These are a few items I collected in the field when I was fairly young up into my early 20s. The discoidal is from a shell/trash midden eroding into Escambia bay near Pensacola. I was walking along the beach one day after finding lots of pottery shards in the water I saw what appeared to be a shell midden in the side of a bank & after shaking the tree root that was there this discoidal rolled out right into the water. I picked it up and was truly amazed because there are no stones in this area whatsoever plus it is flat around the outside edge and It is indented on either side. My guess would be that it was used as a fire stick supporter for holding the stick down on the top. Or possibly it could've been used as a Chunkey gaming stone. The spearpoint is from Blackwater NF along Coldwater Creek. I found both of these back in the early 90's.

Shell Spoon

This shell carved into the shape of a spoon is also among lots of other pottery items as well. What do you think this might be? Is it a shellfish of my imagination?

Those are great finds! Thank you for sharing them with us, very cool! The shell? you never know, it might have been used that way and I would hang on to it for sure.
