Stove Parts & Fishing Weights are Great--But I'll Take the Silver

After a weekend of digging up some eclectic finds, I decided to go out today and find me some silver.

Then I got caught up in a poker game and wasted most of my day away. Well, it wasn't an entire waste--out of 2000 people I took 3rd place. Since it was a free tournament I only made $17.50, but that's better than nothing, right? So what if it took 6 hours (not quite $3 an hour, for those keeping track)

After I got done taking everyone's chips, I was more than ready to hunt down that silver I had been dreaming of all day, but with not much daylight left to do it.

I did my usual random driving around until my silver sense tingled, then parked and started hunting. I found 36 cents in clad and a 1940 canadian cent, and about 20 minutes in I struck my silver. By then I was starved so I packed up and left to forage for food.

Dang I love silver.

Congrats on the silver and poker win. Some MD buddies of mine and I get together to play penny poker time to time just to get together, but there is a hitch. The money used (clad only) has to have been found detecting, and it has to have been tumbled. No one ever loses much, and it gives us a chance to get together and talk about our finds.

I agree. Much nicer than a chunk of cast iron. WTG!

Thanks everyone!

LOL @ the idea of having to play poker with only found coinage!

Wish I had a "silver sense"! :D Finding Silver is very addictive. It's even worse when you are use to finding it. This weekend Nate and I both struck out on silver which is rare. We found 27 wheats and one IH but no silver. :P Anyway. Cool finds. Mercs satisfy the silver shakes very nicely. ;D ;D

Thanks Ramapirate!

Mirage I think you and Nate do indeed have the 'silver sense'--you guys find plenty.  As I'm sure you know, sometimes it just isn't in the cards.  Hopefully you will get some more real soon so you can get rid of the shakes!!

Thanks for the kind words.

Its a real good thing that silver is not a illegal drug..we would all be in sooo much trouble.. :D LOL RH

Re: Stove Parts & Fishing Weights are Great--But I'll Take the Silver

Thanks you guys.

DMCguy, I don't get out as often as I'd like, but when I do I'll post whatever I find. Although I really do like the coins the best, sometimes the stoves get in the way--and I do get some enjoyment of finding stuff like that as well!
