pictures are about the hardest thing to identify mineralization with.....these questions pop up often...we will ask some questions to try and help lets see if we can get some answers...
What region do you live in? was there mining near the area you found that rock? What type of mines? Have you seen real gold before so that you can Identify it when you do see it?
Looks like some metalicish mineralization to me....it could mean something...it could just be low grade mineralization....hard to say

Im pretty certain that is a yellow mica layer. Actually I would bet money on that. The mica is shiny yellow and can be deceiving at first glance. You will likely be able to scratch it off easily, or it will scrub off with a brush.

best to look at it under a jewelers loop, if its a metal you'll known it.
