Some of you may remember my abandoned road site from last summer. I decided to take a ride up there again today and do some hunting in the woods, the gun part was only 2 inches down and gave off quite the overload, it looks very much like a shotgun trigger with part of the barrel. was kinda wondering if anyone can date it. also found 2 crotals, a plated 14k kids ring, an aluminum comb and some very much needed silver. both the V and Canadian dime are 1910, my 2nd Barber quarter and my 9th Large Cent for the year, 1837,

Enjoy

Nice finds!

Can't help ya date the trigger mechanism though. It does look quite old...

Congrats! Looks like that place might still hold a few more keepers!

Yes, awesome digs. Not sure on the trigger part, have not seen a set up like that before. Good luck on I.Din.

Yeah, I went up there only expecting to find maybe an injun, or if im lucky a silver dime. But it turned out to be a very good hunt. Got a little excited on the quarter and wiped the dirt off as you can see,...but im happy with it. My brother has a huge gun digest, so ill browse thru that and look for my relic.
Thanks for the replies, glad everyone enjoyed the pics.

The trigger assembly looks a lot like an old "pop gun" to me... not really a shotgun.. but hard to tell from the pics.. plus not know how heavy it is... if it is machined it looks more to be stamped and formed metal...
