Spent 6.5 hours (13 man hours) finishing gridding the last 2 acres of the last of our stubble fields. Its the first year we have tried this field but it will be the last & we are glad to cross it off the list. It has been worth it for a once over as I had a Rare Saxon Stirrup Terminal but otherwise its poor land.

2 Livery Buttons
Lead Cloth Seal & Token
Hammered Ed I - London - common type but in nice condition :icon_thumright:
I saved the most interesting find that Dad had put in his Lead pocket for recycling. Turns out its a Medieval Secular Badge (Fluer-de-lue), if its not a badge as I'm a little unsure then its a mount of some sort :dontknow: Whatever, its our first & in OK condition being in Lead & found in plough soil. :)

Yeah, I was glad to see that, it was in the last half an hour & I had just said to Dad that it 'looks unlikely we will get a hammered now...'

Nice one on the hammered :icon_thumleft:, and the lead mount. I thought I was all out fields for a while so I went for a drive. As I was passing one of our friendly Italian farmers fields I noticed it was being ploughed :hello2:. This was the field that I got 2 hammered and a Roman brooch last year with the GTI, I am going to be out at 7.30 am with the Xp. It will be interesting to compare the results.

maybe the fleur de lis is a french lead seal. nice finds as usual and thank you for sharing. the lake is at 40 degrees farenheit so I can start diving soon. it gets a little old watching everybody else dig up the goodies.

You will do after harvest (Aug/Sep). I had real problems motivating Dad to finish this one.

Both where new types, which was a bonus. we debate the question you asked, and decided on Dovecote, but we thought of beehive as well, so basically we are guessing.

Not a bad thought but its way to large & chucky for that.

Good luck with getting back out there :icon_thumright:
