Got permission to hunt a new field /house site on Sunday. After church I could hardly wait to get there.I found my first spur,a heel plate, and some more brass thingees. This site seems tobe from around the turn of the century according to the type of purple glass and porcelain. But I also found a piece of clay pipe and some "black" glass which possibly could mean that it is also an older site. Most of these items were found in a small area apart from the main site. Can someone help me possibly date the spur and heel plate?I was told they could be Civil War related but all I find online from the CW have iron spur things and they are mounted vertical not horizontal. Please help.......

Nice finds :icon_thumright:

Try posting it in the "what is it" section, I'm sure you'll get plenty of info there.
