Re: Sunday's finds....tell me about the jawbone please!
well comparing it to the size of the toy car, it looks to be a length of 4" at the most, This type of jaw bone this size was owned by either a beaver, muskrat, or similar rodent toothed type mamals. an actual length of the whole jaw including tooth and a measurement of how far the tooth extendeds past the bone would be helpful as I could more closely identify it.

Re: Sunday's finds....tell me about the jawbone please!
MDnoob,
couldnt a be a possum jawbone, possums are canines just leik dogs, racoons, or coyotes. the jaw bone he is showing us has a longer front tooth then has smaller molars behind for grinding. could be a groundhog, there are pretty good ammounts of them in kentucky so I am told, wouldn't be a prarie dog, don't think they have those in kentucky. some partsof kentucky have boar but not javelina the jaw looks too small for a pig though. . most common depending upon size would be beaver, muskrat, groundhog/woodchuck, looks too big for rat and too small for pig.just stating my opinions and experience, as I have cleaned many an animal and know most of thier bone structures
