A tad chilly here today, so we decided to head to the old race course, to see if we could find anything on the old track…. Well yes we found lead, and I found a cufflink, but apart from frozen fingers nothing else, so after lunch we had a couple of hours in yesterdays fields.

Himself started strong with a small fibular, and I found 2 more pretty bits that I believe match the piece I found yesterday 🤔 one for the FLO, small apothecary weight, the cuff link from the race track, 2 muskets, lead weight, old gadget, top of a thimble a buckle piece, and more buttons than u can shake a stick at 😆, no coins today, but happy himself never found any, so I remain in the lead 😆 xx

The horses were out on the gallops, so took some pics of them for a change for you xx

Kicking his tail out there. 👍
Love the button picture.
I’ve dug some of those apothecary weights on a 1799 plantation property here in NC.
I believe they were marked in some fashion like with dots? What were they used to weight?
Thanks for the post Blossom .

Well done to Himself on the Fibula :occasion14:

The little knob ended thingy's are something - just don't know what off hand.

Did you find the awesome Roman hitch and ball (over here we call them a receiver and Trailer hitch also)?

Great to see you brave the elements to give us all something to study and drool over.

The old gadget in photo 7 gave me the impression of a trailer hitch. Ball sticking up for the receiver and a ring on each side for the safety chains. I wonder whether there were chariot trailers? Just kidding, of course. Brass wouldn't hold up!
