Hi all, I got a phone call Saturday evening from a detecting buddy asking if I wanted to go detecting early the next day. Of course I said yes , I then went and got everything ready and had an early-ish night. Sunday came, I got up early, fed Benson and gave him his insulin then took him for a walk. Finally getting on to the field for detecting just before 7am . My take for the day was 10 Roman coins, the best one of which is a billon antoninianus of Victorinus 268 to 270 ad (close up pics in this post http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,389040.0.html ), also some bullets, musket/pistol balls, a lock escutcheon, a silver thing, a scrappy jetton, watch winder and other bits including a ring pull tab, my second this year . Anyway enjoy the pics .

What the thing to the left of the keyhole?

I think there is a lot more roman to come out of that field yet. The 2 guys detecting with me found 2 silver denarii each, plus I found part of a hypocaust tile. I'm going to try to get out there for a couple of hours tomorrow if I can

The thing on the left of the keyhole is the silver thing that I found. It looks like the tail end of a spoon or fork, but it's hollow .

You should have given me a call, thats only about 40 minutes away. We could have done the roman field . Did you go detecting?
