Sunday's stuff- and my new scientific theory

Here's Sunday's total for me and Jackie. Went to about 10 tot-lots. Each had probably 1/5 the score we found in yesterday's tot-lots.

An old-looking key (do you think it is truly old?), dog whistle at which my dogs don't bark, Jolly-Roger pendant, a .925 silver toe ring, and a .000 "silver" spoon. And $4.27 in clad.

Here's an interesting bit of trivia. I have now pseudo-scientifically proven that coins were neither circulated nor dropped anywhere in western WA State prior to 1965. :D

To prove a theory, it has to be repeated with the same results. I guess this qualifies, sorry dude. :(

Get out of the tot lots and you can find pre-1965 coins.

BSCO,

So what...you're suggesting that kids these days weren't around in the 40s and 50s??

Cool stuff. I doubt the key is old, sorry. Tot lots were kinda invented in the 60s and 70s. Prior to that, we didn't have bark or ground up tires at the base of our slides, swings, etc. We were tougher!!! Find the older parks and the older schools and you might find the silver. The newer tot lots are probably gonna skunk you for silver 99/100 times.

Agreed!! However, My hunting partner did find a Morgan Silver Dollar in a tot lot once. Must have been from Daddy's coin collection :o

bscofield6 is right, I didn't find any of my silver coins in a tot lot, just some fine 18 carat gold items though ;) Old coins are tough to find in Seattle, but not impossible.

Re: Sunday's stuff- and my new scientific theory

I found my only silver dollar right in front of a swing at Willowbrook Elementary School in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. A real surprise because I had looked that place many times over the years. I have found several nice rings in that area. Must have been a show and tell that some kid didn't make it home with.
