Beautiful Day for hunting!! Found 164 coins consisting of 31 clad quarters, 50 dimes that included a 1942 silver Mercury dime( the year I was born), and 83 of the 95% copper cents that included 7 wheat cents. I was running high discrimination, rejecting all modern copper coated zinc cents dated after 1982 to cut my digging time. That's a total of $13.58 face value. Another GOOD Day!!

164 coins.... WHOA!!! :occasion18: 80% of MDers wont dig 164 coins in 20 years. The most I ever had in one day was 36 coins ranging from 1795-1930 in Richmond County,Virginia.. I can't even image digging 164 coins that is awesome! Great stuff... :occasion14:

Great day indeed, I'm kind of at a halt up here in Detroit, with the ground being frozen snow all over the place!

You must have found somebody's bank. That's some good finds and a lot of getting up and down. Did you think you might have missed some gold?

Thanks for all the replies........I was using the recently acquired Black Bounty Hunter Discovery 3300 that I got just before Christmas, and still getting used to it.......But they were all found one at a time in a very large Elementary School yard......and my hunting buddy, John, who goes with me most of the time, digs everything above iron, so he finds a lot of nickels and a gold ring from time to time.....but digs many more targets than I do....that is a lot of getting up and down, but he is a lot younger than I...lol

SPLENDID DAY! I was assuming your were digging a beach which is way easier than a school yard, but --WOW! 1942 is also my birth year, so at 70 years, whenever I detect all day, I feel many aches later on at home, lol. Haven't found any 1942 coins yet, but got a surface 1940 nickel which is my hubby's birth year. And my son gave me a 1942 wheatie when he dug one. Even though you don't usually include gold in your settings, you may want to in order to sweep that schoolyard once more -- since there was so much activity there in the past, maybe an adult lost a gold chain, bracelet or ring! Have fun wherever you go! Andi
