Look what I found out in the Arizona desert today. Cool, right? Except, here's the thing...I'm not convinced that it's Native American. But it'd be cool if it was so I thought I'd ask the experts....(that's you guys).

Most of the pottery that I have found out here is very smooth, and blackened on the inside. This piece here has a textured pattern and is very corse like sandstone.

I appreciate your opinions.

It's hard to tell, it looks real thick for pottery and the design looks almost perfect. It could be a piece of old crock wear and like you said it looks different from what you have found, but that does not mean it is not pottery. I would have someone from your area that collects take a look at it. Good eye and glad you back posting

Would like to find some pottery some day. Haven't found any yet but always have my eyes open for it. Would like to be able to help you out.

Looks more like some type of tile and maybe for a roof.

I think tile to maybe somebody got a new gun and was doing some target shooting out there. looks like a modern piece to me. Always good to ask.
