Look what I found out in the Arizona desert today. Cool, right? Except, here's the thing...I'm not convinced that it's Native American. But it'd be cool if it was so I thought I'd ask the experts....(that's you guys).

Most of the pottery that I have found out here is very smooth, and blackened on the inside. This piece here has a textured pattern and is very corse like sandstone.

I appreciate your opinions. :)

It's hard to tell, it looks real thick for pottery and the design looks almost perfect. It could be a piece of old crock wear and like you said it looks different from what you have found, but that does not mean it is not pottery. I would have someone from your area that collects take a look at it. Good eye and glad you back posting:icon_thumright:

Would like to find some pottery some day. Haven't found any yet but always have my eyes open for it. Would like to be able to help you out.
